Doing a perfect gel / cream eyeliner is probably one of the hardest makeup techniques to master. I have however found that your brush of choice can make or break a decent eyeline.
Here are the five types that I have tracked down and thoroughly road tested, you’ll be glad to hear I have a winner. So in reverse order..
No 5 Real Techniques Silicone Brush £5.99 – I had high hopes for this but have been massively disappointed. I digs craters in to you Eyeliner pot, it doesn’t go on evenly and I find I’m using much more product. Sorry but it’s a 👎🏻 from me. ⭐️
No 4 Real Techniques Fine liner brush (bought as part of a set) – Again I just couldn’t get on with this one. It’s better than the silicone one but this was to dense and the bristles weren’t long enough. ⭐️⭐️
No 3 Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Liner Brush £22.50 – quite a steep price this one. It’s quite flat compared to most liner brushes and is fine. Being Bobbi Brown I had high expectations and I do like it but it’s not the one I turn to time and time again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
No 2 Sigma Small Angle E65 £10 -if you prefer angle brushes this is great. It’s really fine, has the right amount of firmness without dragging. Also a great price at half the cost of Bobbi Brown. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No 1 Is the brush I turn to EVERY time and is amazing. It’s the Louise Young LY24 Very Fine Liner £11. Its super super fine so you can choose your own thickness of line, you have much more control so can build your liner bit by bit. Due to the long bristles it’s sooo much easier to get a long sweeping line. And it’s £11 a brilliantly price. I would not be without this brush. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
